The World Record attempt was held on 19th May 2012 in
Longstone Park, Saltash, Cornwall.
Excitement grows as we await the official results from the “Guinness Book of Records” of our World Record attempt for the most partisipants being taught a form called “Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi” in a 30 minute lesson. It is based on the philosophy of Tai Chi and extracts some of the best movements from the Yang style Tai chi chuan. It places emphasis on synchronizing the 18 movements with proper breathing techniques. It is a gentle, flowing Qigong exercise routine that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxing. (More info on Tai Chi Shibashi go to link page (Sifu Master Wing Cheung).
A target was set at 1000 participants, a few hundred would have been great, but 1,100 were counted! There were Tamar Tai Chi students who were taking part who are already experienced in the form, but nearly a thousand others were seeing and practising the form for the very first time. An amazing feat which they all enjoyed yet took seriously.
"Thank you to everyone who took part".
As well as the official verdict on the attempt we also await some good photos of the participants.
